On July 30, the translation review meeting for the foreign language versions of two national standards, "Sewing Machinery Terminology Part 1: General Terms" and "Sewing Machinery Terminology Part 3: Fabric Spreading and Cutting Equipment Terms," was held via video conference. More than 40 committee members and representatives attended the meeting, including Chen Ji, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of the Association and Deputy Director and Secretary-General of the National Sewing Standards Committee; Lin Jianlong, Supervisor of the Association; Fang Haixiang, Deputy Director of the National Sewing Standards Committee; and advisors Wu Jianmin and Luo Yiming. The meeting was chaired by Xu Dong, Deputy Secretary-General of the Association.

Brief Report on the Import and Export of Sewing Machinery Industry from January to April 2025
In April 2025, the United States launched a "reciprocal tariff war" globally, imposing high tariffs on Chinese products in particular. Under this influence, on the one hand, China's sewing machinery exports to the US and other regional markets showed a year-on-year decline, and a month-on-month decline to markets such as Vietnam and Bangladesh; on the other hand, driven by overseas footwear and apparel "export grabbing", China's sewing machinery exports still showed relatively rapid year-on-year growth. In April, the industry's sewing machinery exports totaled US\$342 million, a year-on-year increase of 25.70% and a month-on-month decrease of 1.11%.

Southeast Asia Insight: A Glimpse into the Malaysian Market
Amidst the ever-evolving global landscape of the textile and garment industry, the Southeast Asian market presents immense growth potential. To further promote deeper engagement between China's sewing machinery industry and the Southeast Asian market, better respond to the national "Belt and Road" initiative, and gain a thorough understanding of the development of the textile and garment industry in key markets and the changing demand for sewing equipment upgrades and renovations, the China Sewing Machinery Association organized a group visit to Southeast Asia for market research and exchange in the first half of this year, assisting enterprises in expanding their overseas markets.
