Based on the new stage and implementing new concepts, we are fully committed to building a new development pattern for the industry - Summary of the 2023 Annual Work Report of the China Sewing Machinery Association.

 

On November 30, 2023, the China Sewing Machinery Industry Conference and the Third Council Meeting of the 11th China Sewing Machinery Association were successfully held in Xiamen. At the meeting, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General Chen Ji delivered the 2023 annual work report, comprehensively summarizing and reviewing the achievements of the association over the past year and looking forward to 2024. The report is now published for industry colleagues to share.

I. Implementing Central Deployment and Optimizing Development Guidelines

First, actively implement the spirit of central thematic education, deeply carry out various thematic research on regional development of sewing machine industry, digital upgrading, spare parts supply chain, trade and market service system construction; second, leverage the association's statistical analysis functions to strengthen industry development guidelines and policy recommendations, regularly complete collection, analysis and disclosure of operational data from key enterprises, upstream and downstream industrial chain data as well as customs data from multiple dimensions; third, optimize professional evaluation models for key enterprise groups by organizing entrepreneur confidence surveys to continuously promote research on entrepreneur confidence index in the sewing machinery industry.

II. Focusing on 'Specialized, Refined, Characteristic and Innovative' to Assist Enterprise Transformation

First, plan and organize special high-level forums inviting relevant leaders from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), industrial economic associations as well as champions in specific sectors and typical 'little giant' enterprises for thematic presentations and experience sharing; second, rely on the association's media platform to strengthen promotion of 'specialized', 'refined', 'characteristic' advantageous enterprises and products in the industry to guide continuous focus on niche markets while enhancing product, technology and service innovation; third, invite professional institutions such as Shanghai Jiao Tong University and China Automation Alliance along with expert teams to conduct specialized lectures for small- medium-sized enterprises in the industry focusing on 'specialized', 'refined', 'characteristic' advancement training providing diagnostic assessments for transformation upgrades; fourthly effectively guide and assist enterprises in applying for qualifications as national or provincial-level 'specialized', 'refined', 'characteristic' enterprises.

III. Organizing Scientific Research Initiatives to Strengthen Industry Foundation

First, continue promoting key tasks outlined in the industry's 14th Five-Year Plan technology roadmap with an investment of 1 million yuan from association funds to initiate a third batch of basic theory research plans on sewing machinery along with shortfall technology soft topics through a selection process funding eleven projects proposed by Jiangnan University, Xi'an University of Technology among other research institutions.

Second, further enhance guidance on advantageous technological resources targeting common needs for digital upgrades in key components of sewing equipment by hiring professional institutions such as MIIT's Industrial Promotion Center or China Academy of Machinery Science & Technology to provide onsite diagnostic services at frontline enterprises helping elevate overall equipment standards.

Thirdly organize orderly applications for scientific projects along with evaluation results having cumulatively recommended five intelligent action special projects to National Development Reform Commission (NDRC), three applications for Chinese Patent Awards along with twenty applications for China Light Industry Federation Science Progress Awards.

Fourthly continue optimizing intellectual property development atmosphere within industries conducting real-time dynamic disclosures regarding patent information alerts while coordinating disputes throughout year disclosing nearly ten sets of intellectual property data while resolving over ten enterprise disputes.

IV. Practicing ‘Three Products’ Strategy to Enhance Quality Brands

First insist on digital empowerment enriching product systems relying on CISMA2023 exhibition platform conducting a total of fifty-four selections for new intelligent themed demonstration products across entire industry.

Second combine national standardization requirements alongside industry demands continuing promoting construction along with dissemination services regarding technical standards system solidifying product quality assurance systems.

Thirdly adhere to using enterprise standard leader evaluations as leverage enhancing product quality alongside brand influence within industries successfully launching automatic template machine enterprise standard leader program completing evaluations across twenty-three companies throughout year.

Fourthly relying upon China Light Industry Federation brand evaluation system actively conduct evaluations promoting advantageous enterprises alongside brands within industries completing evaluations along with awards presentation including top one hundred light industrial companies top one hundred light industrial technology companies top fifty light industrial equipment companies among others.

'Fifthly introduce specialized measures fostering brand cultivation among small-medium-sized enterprises organizing new brand selections during CISMA2023 exhibition providing booth allocations exhibition subsidies alongside promotional support series.'

'V. Innovating Organizational Forms Cultivating Professional Talent'

'Effectively advancing skilled talent team building integrating advantageous resources from industrial clusters completing organization hosting events during years twenty-two through twenty-three; organizing tailored training sessions focusing specifically upon debugging maintenance skills related directly towards sewing equipment.'

'Continuously optimizing growth atmosphere surrounding entrepreneurial innovative talents organizing completion second youth entrepreneur competition selecting recognizing seventeen various entrepreneurial projects.'

'Orderly implementing training plans focused upon scientific research standardization professionals successfully organizing third phase youth science talent training graduation design assessments alongside sewing machinery standard drafting boot camps throughout year.'

'VI. Integrating Media Resources Deepening Information Promotion'

'VII. Optimizing Organizational Planning Preparing CISMA Exhibition'

VIII. Organizing Professional Exchanges Enhancing Industrial Linkage

Using digital upgrades as a link organizing planning series activities connecting sewing digital actions deeply engaging frontline garment companies like Jihua Group Youngor Zhongfu Innovation Research Institute discussing directions towards digitization intelligence upgrades concerning sewing equipment products.

Focusing on intelligent manufacturing, organize technical exchanges and connections with upstream industries such as automation and robotics. Throughout the year, organize visits to leading industrial control companies like Huichuan for learning, and participate in professional exchange activities such as the 2023 China-Europe Intelligent Robot and Automation Conference.

Using the association's branch institutions as a platform, organize various professional meetings, forums, and discussion exchange activities. A total of branch meetings were held throughout the year; planned and hosted multiple forums including the CISMA2023 International Forum, Technology Innovation Development Forum (soft topic results release conference), and Overseas Dealer Forum.

Promote industry-education collaboration and spread sewing culture.

Organize an embroidery competition through industry-education collaboration. Jointly organized with Ningbo Textile & Garment Vocational Technical College and other institutions the 'Dahao Cup' National Machine Embroidery Works Selection Activity, successfully organizing dozens of teams to participate.

Implement multiple measures to carry out sewing training and cultural dissemination. Throughout the year, the association's secretariat organized several sewing training sessions and patchwork creative exchange activities around hot topics such as 'International Women's Day', '618', 'Double Eleven', combining online and offline formats.

Improve internal mechanisms to achieve new team building achievements.

First, improve the internal long-term learning mechanism of the association's secretariat by organizing 1-2 specialized business education or party building activities each month through internal expert forums, employee lectures, video online education, etc., strengthening theoretical and business learning for full-time employees; second, actively organize horizontal exchange learning between the secretariat team and the industry, conducting joint training and special learning exchanges with executive teams from companies like Jack and Fucheng in Gutian, Fujian; third, further refine and improve the work process mechanism of the secretariat as well as performance evaluation system, initiate development of the association's CRM system project, conduct process sorting and optimization reengineering, formulate and issue new regulations such as 'Trial Measures for Booth Division at China International Sewing Equipment Exhibition'.

The association has successively won honors such as Advanced Collective in National Light Industry Standardization and has been nominated as a candidate unit for Advanced Collective in National Light Industry. Several members of the secretariat have been appointed as experts by ministries including Ministry of Science and Technology, State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC), Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), China Light Industry Federation to participate in various project evaluations. The three vocational skill textbooks titled 'Automatic Cutting Bed Operation and Maintenance Technology', 'Automatic Spreading Machine Operation and Maintenance Technology', 'Household Sewing Machine Operation and Maintenance Technology' co-authored by the association with relevant enterprises won third prize for excellent publications at ministerial level from China National Textile Industry Council in 2022.
