Deeply explore market potential and jointly expand the industrial track - The 2023 China Sewing Machinery Industry Conference and the third council meeting of the 11th session of the China Sewing Machinery Association were grandly held.

On November 30, the 2023 China Sewing Machinery Industry Conference and the Third Council of the Eleventh Session of the China Sewing Machinery Association, themed "Deeply Explore Market Potential and Expand Industrial Tracks," was grandly held in Xiamen, Fujian. Leaders including Yang Xiaojing, Chairman of the China Sewing Machinery Association, attended the meeting. Over 200 representatives from vice-chairman units, invited vice-chairman units, supervisory board members, executive directors and director unit representatives, market work committee member units, new member units in 2023, and some sewing machine enterprises participated. The meeting was hosted by Chen Ji, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of the Association.

The meeting reviewed and approved Chen Ji's "2023 Annual Work Report of the Association." In 2023, based on a new stage and new situation for high-quality development in China's sewing machinery industry, the association adhered to Xi Jinping's Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era as guidance. It focused on promoting the construction of a modern industrial system in the industry as its main line while fully implementing new development concepts to build a new development pattern for both the industry and association. Throughout the year’s work, the association implemented central deployments and optimized development guidelines by focusing on "specialized, refined, distinctive," assisting enterprise transformation; organizing scientific research breakthroughs; solidifying industry foundations; practicing the "three products" strategy to enhance quality brands; innovating organizational forms to cultivate professional talent; organizing professional exchanges to enhance industrial synergy. This led to practical implementation of industry development initiatives with detailed actions. By integrating media resources and deepening information dissemination while optimizing organization planning for CISMA exhibitions; promoting cooperation between production and education while spreading sewing culture; improving internal mechanisms while achieving excellent team-building results—these efforts were aligned with actual industry developments and urgent enterprise needs to effectively provide various services. In 2024, the association will continue to fully implement decisions made by the Party Central Committee and State Council around high-quality development and strategic goals for new industrialization construction during this new historical stage.

The meeting listened to an analysis of the economic situation in 2023 presented by Wu Jiling, Vice Chairman of the Association. In the first three quarters, overall production in the industry showed a tightening trend. From January to September this year, total industrial output value from one hundred enterprises in this sector decreased by 5.81% year-on-year. The annual total output of industrial machines is expected to be around 5.5 million units—a decrease of about 12% year-on-year—with characteristics showing that sales exceed production leading to significant inventory reduction effects within industries. On a market level, domestic demand remains weak but has shown signs of narrowing decline; overall exports have decreased with market polarization observed—preliminary estimates suggest that export value for this sector will be around $2.9 billion—a decrease of about 15% year-on-year—with growth noted in exports to Africa and Europe markets compared to last year. Notably in Q3 indicators such as production-sales began showing signs of narrowing declines with monthly recoveries indicating stabilization which brings hope for next year's recovery growth.

The meeting invited Tang Duoduo, Director of Macroeconomic Research at Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), who provided an in-depth interpretation regarding current macroeconomic conditions under 'new three-phase overlap' during transitional periods marked by developmental shifts + frequent external shocks + private leverage de-leveraging phases along with future policy directions. Tang's insights conveyed at this conference regarding 'China's economic growth stabilizing trends,' 'policy outlooks,' 'potential rebounds in foreign trade,' 'positive asset-liability adjustments among residents' greatly boosted confidence among attendees.

In line with theme 'Deeply Explore Market Potential Together Expand Industrial Tracks', Ruan Jixiang founder & chairman of Jack Co., Liu Hangdong chairman at Suzhou Qiongpai Ruite Technology Co., Ltd., Ru Shuiqiang general manager at Beijing Dahao Technology Co., Ltd., Li Xiaofeng director & executive vice president at Shangong Shenbei Group delivered keynote speeches respectively sharing their experiences related innovation-driven responses towards downstream market changes accelerating digital integration addressing process pain points collaborating across mechanical-electrical frameworks building digital sewing systems strengthening cooperative efforts towards constructing new ecological chains within industries actively delving into + guiding markets + uncovering demands extending applications expanding blue ocean spaces—all these practical aspects sparked strong resonance among participants leading discussions.

Qiu Yangbo assistant vice president at Xtep Supply Chain analyzed pain points regarding intelligent sewing applications within footwear & apparel sectors from actual production perspectives explaining how digital-driven transformations upgrade sewing equipment under flexible manufacturing environments along with future directions & pathways for sewing equipment proposing a new model termed 'IoT + Data Linkage + Intelligent Connection' aiming towards achieving mutual goals like 'continuous evolution maximizing marginal profits.'

In his concluding remarks Yang Xiaojing highly praised this conference noting its compact rhythm practical content strong strategic guidance foresight regarding next steps for industry enterprises he outlined five specific developmental directions: adjusting strategies systematically clarifying positioning enhancing innovation leadership perfecting research systems strengthening market expansion deeply exploring potential jointly expanding tracks accelerating foundational support chain building modern industrial systems proactively taking responsibility shaping entrepreneurial spirit etc He expressed hope that industry enterprises would join hands using innovative measures solid performance answering historical questions contemporary inquiries future challenges striving together towards realizing ambitious goals within first tier nations sooner.
